ABOUT ME

Marcin Kasprzyk. He began his music education at the age of 7 at the Fryderyk Chopin State Primary Music School in Jarosław under the supervision of Teresa Romanow-Rydzik, MA. He continued his education at the Artur Malawski Complex of State Primary and Secondary Music Schools in Przemyśl in the piano class of Dorota Miller, MA. Then he pursued his studies at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź under the supervision of Prof. Cezary Sanecki and Wojciech Kubica, PhD, from which he graduated in 2012, receiving the title of Master of Arts.
He has been developing his skills at master’s courses and lessons conducted by such professors and artists as Kevin Kenner, Andrzej Pikul, Andrzej Jasiński, Olga Łazarska, Michał Szczepański, Stefan Kutrzeba, Wojciech Świtała, Orla McDonagh, Philippe Giusiano, Grzegorz Kurzyński, Waldemar Andrzejewski, Oksana Rapita, Hubert Rutkowski, and Maciej Pabich.
In 2013, he took part in the International Master Competition for Music Teachers in Warsaw, winning 3rd place in the soloist category. In 2021, he won 2nd place in the International Piano Competition (WPTA) in Thailand, and received an honourable mention in the same category in the International Piano Competition (WPTA) in Finland, both in the soloists category.
In July 2020, in a unanimous vote, he defended his doctoral thesis entitled Piano Chamber Music by Jan Novák as an Example of Stylistic Synthesis in Context of 20th-century Music at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, obtaining the title of Doctor of Arts.
In 2021, together with soprano Renata Johnson-Wojtowicz, he received a scholarship of the Minister of Culture, National Heritage, and Sport, Prof. Piotr Gliński for a joint project on disseminating Piotr Perkowski’s oeuvre for solo piano and songs with piano accompaniment.
In 2021, He released Jan Novak’s debut label with chamber music at the music publisher DUX Recording Producers. The album is co-created by Jagoda Pietrusiak-Kasprzyk (flute), Renata Johnson-Wojtowicz (soprano), Wojciech Bafeltowski (cello) and Michał Rot (piano). All works constituting the Polish premiere, and the Capriccio in the version for cello and piano – world premiere.
In 2022 he made recordings: Dominik Lasota “Emily” together with Mirosław Dymon (accordion) and the “Unanime” Vocal Group led by Anna Marek-Kamińska at Requiem Records; Dominik Lasota “Kamizelka” with Mirosław Dymon (accordion), the “Unanime” Vocal Ensemble led by Anna Marek-Kamińska and the Lejdis Quartet String Quartet at Requiem Records.
